vi. RFP Process: Once the RFP process begins, communication with vendors will be restricted. Copyleaks is Turnitin's biggest competitor, based on prior RFP awards. 2. Dropout Detective Quote i. Dr. LeBrun stated the newest quote for Dropout Detective is at the same price per user as before ($4.75). The annual minimum has been increased to $60,000 to account for exceeding the previous $50,000 cap. The contract expires on June 30th, and ITS requires procurements to be submitted 120 business days before the expiration (technically, March 2nd). ii. Dropout Detective Usage and Concerns :

i. There were mentioned there are concerns about the lack of usage reports for Dropout Detective, given the significant expenditure. At InstructureCon a new dashboards with some usage information, but not traditional reports. Dropout Detective was previously canceled due to a lack of usage reports and was brought back around COVID.

iii. Intelligent Insights

1. Canvas is developing a similar tool to Dropout Detective within Intelligent Insights, which is a student risk assessment with institutional customization. Dr. Wilhite mentioned that Intelligent Insights is an additional cost and includes features like "ask your data" and AI. There is interest in getting information on Intelligent Insights for comparison with Aspire Edu (Dropout Detective). 1. There was a $1500 six-month pilot program for Intelligent Insights, but it required ITS involvement. A demo of Intelligent Insights should have been done at a past MELA meeting. There is a suggestion to have one school pilot Intelligent Insights to provide feedback to the group. 1. Some schools find Dropout Detective vital, while others may be open to alternatives. i. Dr. LeBrun mentioned that Aspire Edu (Munzos) will be at the Creating Futures through Technology conference on March 4th 6th. Munzos have offered to host something for the ELC group, but participation has been low. Dr. LeBrun and the speaker will work on getting another Intelligent Insights demo, an updated iv.
