(iv) Due to course integrity and issues, students are prohibited from auditing an MSVCC course.
(f) The MSVCC P&P should be reviewed regularly by colleges for updates, notify the administrative committee with requested updates, the admin committee will review and submit updates to MELA for approval. The P&P should be updated and approved on a yearly basis at a minimum. (i) New members of MELA need to read the P&P regularly. b) Officers, Committee Members, MCCB, and College Roles in Consortium-Michele Mitchell (PRCC) i) Roles and Responsibilities (1) All policies discussed are outlined in the MSVCC Policies and Procedures manual. (2) Each college president signs a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) annually that confirms that the institution is abiding by the policies stated in the MSVCC P&P. ii) Role of CELO and College Members (1) The Chief eLearning Office (CELO) is responsible for ensuring the institutions are following the policies and procedures. (2) This role varies by institution (Director, Dean, or eLearning Coordinator). (3) The CELO is the voting member for the institution at the consortium meetings. (4) Other college members are considered resource members for the CELO in the meetings. (a) Can be an officer if approved by the CELO (b) College Voting proxy if approved by CELO (i) Needs to be someone who attends meetings regularly and is familiar with MSVCC policies. iii) Office Roles and Expectations (1) Officers serve a one-year term starting on August 1 st . (2) President (a) Can be CELO or a college member that is approved by the CELO to serve. (b) Responsibilities include: (i) The role requires significant time and organization beyond normal job duties. (ii) Conducting monthly MeLA meetings. 1. Ensuring approved items are completed and documented. 2. Ensuring that the meetings are running smoothly and items are being voted on correctly. 3. Keeps discussions on topic and redirecting discussions and tabling off-topic items when necessary.
(iii)Serve as an acting member of the administrative committee (iv) Represent MeLA at MACC and AOA meetings when needed. (v) Submit MSVCC Calendar to the AOA.
1. This has changed to a member of the administrative committee submitting the calendar to AOA for approval. This change needs to be updated in the new P&P draft.
(3) President-Elect (a) Serve as:
(i) Active member of the Administrative Committee. (ii) Acting President in the President’s absence. The President must give the president-elect advance notice if they will not be at a MeLA meeting. This allows the president-elect to prepare themselves to conduct the meeting. (b) Primary responsibility is to organize and plan the annual retreat for the consortium. (c) Previously responsible for operating the technologies for the meeting. However, this is now being managed by MCCB. (4) Secretary (a) Must attend all meetings of the association.
