(d) ITS is currently reviewing the ability to piggyback off the Grand Rapids RFP, and this would allow for a quicker implementation period. (e) Pilot participants will submit compiled feedback to consider. (f) What is the goal or challenge we are trying to address with a plagiarism/AI detection tool? Is it AI detection? Is it plagiarism? iii) Proctor Scheduling and No Shows (1) Some colleges delay opening scheduling to reduce no shows. (2) Others open scheduling immediately to accommodate early planners. (3) No show fees discussed: (a) $25 for some institutions for missed appointments (b) Various institutions have a $20 per hour for non-college or non-MSVCC students iv) Vital Source and Publisher Issues (1) Discussion regarding opt-out settings. (2) Some publisher platforms allow unintended opt-outs. (3) Likely a publisher-side configuration issue. (4) Coordinate with the publisher representative to correct settings. i) Request to update the Google Document with proctoring site hours and closures. ii) Reminder to ensure permitted testing items are clearly listed in SmarterProctoring/Register Blast. iii) Encouragement to review and block unauthorized browser extensions where possible. (1) Block Canvas extensions, can’t see it in history. iv) Virtual testing can’t be seen in the screen recording. v) Testing Center and Proctoring Discussion (1) Since 2021, approximately 835,000 proctored exams have been administered within the consortium. (2) Common practices for security measures were discussed, and concerns about AI add-ons through Google that bypass lockdown browsers, AI pop-up tools not detectable in screen recordings, and publisher tools defaulting to AI study aids during proctored exams. (3) The second camera was discussed, and institutions are turning this on to help with reducing cheating. i) Motion to adjourn: Buffy Matthews (MGCCC) made the motion to end the meeting ii) Second motion: Sarah Buchanan (MDCC) iii) Vote all in favor iv) Meeting adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
