2025-2026 MELA Minutes
Dr. Krista LeBrun, MCCB, mentioned that Dr. Madeley has been working on updated audit guidelines, which may explain why the current PMP language has not yet been verified. She said she will work to get that answered as soon as possible. We will follow up to: • Confirm correct audit process language, • Ensure PMP language aligns with actual procedures, and • Provide clarification to the group once confirmed. Anna Davis, CLCC, asked when midterm grades change from Monday to Friday. When does it take effect. Michelle Mitchell, PRCC, mentioned that we voted on that back in the fall semester. So, it is in place now. 2. Adjusting our local testing dates for host students and dual credit – Denise Gillespie, ICC – mentioned that the calendar was voted on and approved, but the PMP did not change until the May meeting. She mentioned that locally calendars were already setup due to the use of model shells. She mentioned that she tried to adhere to the grades posting deadline, but knows we missed the deadline on some students. She mentioned that they were testing through 4:30 on Friday afternoons, so they couldn’t have current grades in. Plus, the Canvas outage affected everything. She took the new MSVCC dates to the ICC calendar committee, student services, and everyone approved. For local ICC students, they added more days to give their students as long as possible to test, because it’s hard to manage the labs and get everybody through. But she mentioned for host students, they shortened the period to meet MSVCC internal control dates. Mentioning they may have only 3 or 4 days to test, but that’s built in this time. She mentioned that if you don’t put a lot of courses in the ET, it may be hard to see the impact of how difficult that is. She stated that she wanted to share with the group that they are trying to make those adjustments for the upcoming year. She mentioned that if we are placing dual-credit students in ICC courses, she cannot give passwords to high school counselors. She cannot give numerical grades. She mentioned these are her institutional policies. She mentioned that she does not provide those to the local schools. She mentioned that this semester, all dual credit students had to return to campus for testing. Bringing everyone back to campus was due to an increase in cheating. She mentioned that they will give an extension to the students and will work with them.
