MCCLA ACTION PLAN PROJECT
Sandy Crist and Jim Miller
S andy Crist and Jim Miller, as participants in this year’s Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy (MCCLA), are working on an exciting initiative as part of their MCCLA requirements that will benefit the MCCB team! MCCB has experienced rapid expansion in staff size and Agency scope over the last few years. While a broad- ened footprint is certainly a positive and reflective of Dr. Mayfield’s visionary leadership, one hurdle resulting from such growth has been that MCCB staff do not always fully understand the roles played by their col- leagues within the Agency, nor are opportunities for collaboration always realized in a timely manner. The focus of Sandy and Jim’s project is to focus on mitigation of these issues, transferring the Agency’s knowledge from silos to a collaborative, Agency-wide collective. Through the development of video course material and narrative-based online resources, all MCCB staff will have the resources readily available to un- derstand the Agency and its various Divisions and Offices, as well as opportunities for timely collaboration. Ultimately, this project’s goal is to ensure better utilization of cooperative resources, equipping the Agency to function as a more efficient whole.
Over the next few months, more information will be coming out about this project, so stay tuned!
