Moving Forward the Feedback Component

A recent Gallup report showed that employees who regularly meet with their supervisors are three times more likely to be engaged in their jobs. These are mutually beneficial discussions. The employee can voice their opinions, thoughts and any misunderstandings, thus allowing space for dialogue. This regular honest feedback is essential to build a genuine relationship on an individual level with someone who is working with you. It demonstrates that you are committed to developing and growing the individual. In the end, “Becca” will appreciate learning the proper way to perform her task and meet her goals. A strategic yet honest approach to employee development will equip the supervisor to address job accounta- bility standards and develop a path forward. It is the goal that our supervisors show up to the conversations ready to help employees and the team improve.

It is rarely fun to receive critical feedback. However; appropriate, honest and timely feedback is critical to moving the employee, the team, and the agency forward.
