Requirements for licensure: licensed as a Cosmetologist or hold a permit for Alternative Hair Design in order to legally provide braiding services in Louisiana.

The Alternative Hair Design permit is non transferrable between states for licensure and the course hours are not as much as the required Cosmetologist course.

One must complete either course at a Louisiana Beauty school in order to obtain certification. (info from email 05/23/2022)
