MCCB Wellness Days Initiative

MCCB is committed to your holistic health and wellness. In added measure to enhance wellness opportunities to staff, MCCB has instituted a new wellness initiative. Wellness Days. MCCB employees who visit their physicians for an annual wellness check will be given the option to take personal leave or to work off-site the remainder of the day of the visit. Employees must immediately submit documentation of the annual visit to Human Resources in order to participate in the provided option. In addition, MCCB employees are provided 5 EAP visits per year. February 1 will begin the new period for 2019. MCCB employees who visit EAP will be provided the option to take personal leave or to work off-site the remainder of the day of the visit. Employees must immediately submit documentation of the EAP visit to Human Resources in order to participate in the provided option.

Information The Mississippi Community College Foundation’s project is C3- Community Challenge for Change Wellness Center located on the Research and Development Complex at 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS 39211. The C3 Wellness Center will be available to 14 agencies in our complex and will help individual participants and employers by improving overall wellness, increasing wellness education and strengthening partnerships throughout the complex. Participants will reap benefits of reduced health related costs and employers benefit thorough reduced illness related work absences and increased employee productivity.

Goals

The overall goal of this project is to help Mississippians become healthier. With this initiative we strive to increase wellness education, improve health, reduce illness, improve productivity, reduce medical costs, reduce absence from work as well as strengthen the partnerships within our complex. We would like to motivate employees not only to become healthier but to participate in monthly wellness events and annual fundraisers.
