has been approved, but Alabama hasn’t. The good news is that State Authorization is a new thing, and states just need to know that you are ‘proceeding with approval process’. Colleges can still take students from this other states. Distance learning is a little different from traditional because in traditional courses the student is actually coming to the college. Distance learning is ‘going to the student’.

Open Forum a. Elizabeth Spooner asked if there was a way Ive could delete users from the ET at the end of the term. The problem she was seeing is that students can bookmark Canvas courses and see all information for the prior course. Or, students can click on a previous assignment and go to old course. If quiz answers are available, they are all visible to the student in the concluded course. If the student is not taking a current course, they will not see the Home button. If the student is taking a current course, they will see all previous courses (even inactive courses). i. Solution: 1. Canvas needs to make it where students do not have to be deleted from the ET, and students do not have access to past-semester data. Keri can put in a feature request, and all colleges can send out for voting. 2. Audra will ask Ive if he has a temporary solution for Summer 2013 courses. Possibly he could manipulate the files. i. Vanessa Alexander asked how ADA accommodations should be shared amongst colleges. Audra Kimble stated that instructors should communicate directly with the proctor of the exam. This was an issue for some colleges who do not prefer their instructors communicating with the proctor directly, so as a solution the ADA Coordinators at each institution could communicate this information. **Students’ names should not be placed in the ET because of the FERPA. c. Canvas Account Manager Change i. Jeremy from Canvas has left Instructure Canvas (as of August 21). Amy Oscarson is our new account manager. b. ADA information

d. SCORM Content

i. Canvas does not have a SCORM player. ‘SCORM Cloud’ could be an option for purchase. Audra still needs to investigate more about the options for this to work for our workforce areas across the state.

e. Searchable ELC Minutes:

i. State Board contracts with a company that will scan minutes to make them searchable. In the future, there may be a solution to have ELC Minutes in a searchable format.
