MELA Meeting Minutes 2003 - 2017
2. Maryland reviewed the IPEDS website to find out which institutions have Maryland students, and to charge fees to those institutions. If the U.S. Department of Educations proposed regulations are approved, this will be tied to Title 4 funds. If you are found in violation, you may not get any funding. 3. Schools can go to the website for information: http://nc-sara.org/ i. Audra passed out a chart to represent the first current year performance. ii. Zendesk was approximately $2,500 annually for 3 agents. Pricing is based on the number of agents. Some schools may want to consider buying a ticket system for managing their offices. You can escalate outside of your department, run reports, etc. f. Vendors i. Canvas 1. Canvas batch processing for the ET is being built. Only active records will be sent, and it will be ready for August. This should eliminate any records that are out of order. ii. BB IM 1. BB IM should be running correctly and will remove any students who should not be in BB IM when a file is sent that does not contain those student’s names. iii. AspireEDU e. Zendesk for State Board Ticketing System 1. We have signed contracts, and the purchase order will be initialized soon. 2. Jennifer Leimer is going to reach out to Kim from AspireEDU about an instructor evaluation piece, and see how much it is, and possibly do a pilot. Jenny Jones stated that Kim from AspireEDU will give schools a sheet called “Dropout Detective 101” that is all instructors need to be trained. It is very easy to use with the handout. 1. Students are making appointments for every day of the week for final exams and deciding when they are ready to test. The current scheduling software does not restrict when students schedule. PRCC would like to charge a “no show” fee. Based on the current wording of the MSVCC policy, there may need to be an additional statement to cover these fees. 1. Kimberly stated that charges would be just assessed to PRCC students, and there wouldn’t be a way to assess charges for other students. 2.
