MCCB Business a. BFAC.com presentation by Brad McMullen

i. #1 mobile app producer in the Southeast – Chick-fil-a, Buffalo Wild Wings, the National Guard, and other businesses are using this company for text apps. 94% of e-mails sent last year were never opened. 98% of text messages were opened. BFAC charges $1,900 a year for the text app. The company also builds mobile apps. $1,200 for a mobile app, and an extra fee to have an expedited review from iTunes. $3,100 a year for text and mobile app combined. Also, there are discounts for extended contracts with BFAC. ii. There was much discussion about adopting the app for the consortium and/or for each individual institution. ELCs should search for “BFAC” in the iTunes store to see samples of work. Colleges should talk with their IT folks, so that it is included on the agenda on their next state meeting. i. The P&P manual was previously updated to add definitions, add/drop periods, census dates, etc. In the Attendance Policy section of the P&P manual, there is no wording about 3-, 2-, and 1-week terms. ii. Audra would like to add wording regarding the 3-, 2-, and 1-week course policies to the Attendance Policy section of the P&P manual. The Admin Committee will meet to discuss needed changes, and make recommendations to the group at the next meeting. c. Instructor-of-the-Year Process and Timeline (Audra Kimble) i. Audra passed out handouts regarding the process and timeline for the Instructor-of- the-Year nominations. Many in the group discussed that they would like more criteria for nominations. ii. The Quality Subcommittee would like to draft a criteria sheet template to be filled out for the instructors who are nominated. They will present to the group at the next meeting. i. Implementation and Extension of Contract to Traditional Students 1. Krista stated that Kim from AspireEDU sent her an instructional video. She will upload the video and post it to a discussion (which would provide notifications) so all ELCs an access it in the ELC Community in Canvas. Audra will contact Kim from AspireEDU to get training videos and post them to the ELC Community as well. 2. Both Kim and Chris will be at Boot Camp in September. They will be sponsoring a dinner, and will present for one hour. 3. Krista stated that she and David Case wanted to pilot AspireEDU for traditional students for Institutional Effectiveness reasons. Keri asked about mixed students taking both traditional and online courses. Audra stated that each institution would have to separate out any students who were not taking online courses, because the MSVCC has
