they did not come up with a policy on their own. Mr. Yates expressed that MCC will propose a change to the policy because of the loss that colleges who originate classes incur. Alicia mentioned that this policy was not provided to bookstore managers until the last minute and that they were not provided. Mr. Smith asked which Strategic Initiative books fell under. Most agreed Support. Perhaps this should be addressed further with this sub-committee. Mr. Yates expressed a concern about the load that adjunct instructors carry and what SACS might think about some who are teaching for multiple colleges. D. Proctored Testing – Audra Kimble suggested that because of loads that members encourage instructors to allow 4-7 days for testing. Also, make certain that all proctor information is loaded into the enrollment tool at least two weeks prior to the test availability. Ms Shows stated that instructors should remind the students to set an appointment to take their proctored exams. Ms. McCrimon asked whether any other colleges charge for proctoring tests outside of the MSVCC. Most said no. E. Attendance Policy – Ellene McCrimon asked how college count attendance? Mark Smith suggested discussion board participation, Alicia shows said login to blackboard, Hubert said contact period…whether it be an assignment or other. Several said that two-week no contact would be grounds for drop. Terri asked about who determines whether wf, w, or f when and instructor drops. Originating college determines based on their policy. Should send dlc an email stating whether instructor dropped or student withdrew with LDA…no grade. Audra, please encourage instructors to turn in no-shows in a timely manner. Grade changes..Ellene…do we need to use official grade change form. Some colleges require instructor’s signature. Mark suggested that a grade change form be included in the enrollment tool. Ellene said that she had mentioned this to Ive and that we need to follow up on this. Alica asked when create users would be turned back on…Beverlin said it would not because of organization/portal addition. Send any users that need to be created to Beverlin. F. LDA’s – Ellene McCrimon New Business A. Blackboard Portal – Ms. McCrimon said that Jason Pugh wanted to know how the portal is working. Jennifer Leimer stated that AOL and WM connect is causing problems. The solution is to minimize AOL and open a separate IE window. Clearing cached files helps too. Hubert suggested that we encourage students to perform regular Windows updates to alleviate problems with discussion items etc. Mark suggested that we ask Jason to create a DL discussion forum to help with common problems.

B. Archiving Spring Data-Mark Smith asked if we could archive Spring data so that we can begin building Spring 05 courses. Please take a look and see if you need any data out so that we can archive on September 10 th .

C. New Role in enrollment tool-come up with a list of tools you would like to have a new role called “DL Assistant” Mr. Yates would like to have a Dean’s role created. Association members create lists of rights/privileges we would like to have included in these roles.

D. Strategic Plan Implementation Update – Mark Smith Ms. McCrimon said that the oversight committee had met and would meet again at MACs. Mr. Smith reminded association that if we didn’t get the implementation plan done, we might be faced with having a plan handed to us by
