i. Blackboard problems –bb had network problems at beginning of term as a result of not being prepared for the growth that they incurred in the fall. A new data center is in being developed and should be available soon to help relieve network strain. Problems we are having now are not related. This problem is database related. Bb had an outside administrator come in and “tune” the system and, it has been determined that the db software and hardware need to be updated in order to resolve our problems. Thursday night is the first available time to make the migration; the next available day would be Monday. Bb will need an eight hour window of downtime in order to complete the process. Mark Smith and Richard Blackburn both stated that they would like to wait until Monday so that we can prepare the faculty to backup. Mr. Pugh also indicated that we could possibly get the upgrade done this weekend. Mr. Smith recommended and the association agreed that we go ahead and do it
