2005 – April Distance Learning Coordinator’s Association Wednesday, April 6, 2005 Minutes
A meeting of the Distance Learning Coordinator’s Association was held on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 in the Conference Room at the State Board for Junior and Community Colleges building in Jackson, MS.

CALL TO ORDER. Andrea Scott called the meeting to order at 10:10.
II. The minutes from the association meeting on January 19, 2005 were approved as presented. III. Director's report
a. Audra Kimble welcomed Phyllis Johnson who will replace Natalie Young in May. b. Blackboard update: i. Ms. Kimble stated that the data compressor that was causing problems with the discussion board and how it worked with the latest version of Internet Explorer has been repaired. This seems to have helped. ii. Hubert Yates stated that he felt that IE settings and updates may be the cause of a lot of the problems we've been experiencing with Blackboard. Curtis Kynerd expressed his concern about leaving Blackboard and the possibility that a different platform could begin to experience the same types of problems. Ms. Kimble stated that the presidents' association is strongly encouraging the move toward dual platforms. Ms. Kimble encouraged members to express their concerns to their presidents. A general discussion about dual platforms followed. iii. Policies and procedures: Ms. Kimble stated that she had only one response to the policies and procedures. She is working this week to finalize the policies and procedures. Issues that need to be addressed: 1. Statement about single platform consortium…suggested to
