WEBINAR AND COURSE DESCRIPTIONS MSVCC ACADEMY CANVAS CALENDAR One of the challenges facing both students and instructors is keeping track of all the assignments planned throughout the term. Instructors are teaching multiple courses, and students are learning in multiple courses. Every course has its own timeline for when things need to be done. This synchronous webinar will teach you the fundamentals of using the Canvas Calendar in your course. CANVAS GRADEBOOK This synchronous webinar will teach you about the features in the Canvas Gradebook. You will learn student view, icons, assignment groups, weight total points, sub-total columns, current vs. final score, messaging students, sorting columns, and an introduction to SpeedGrader. INTRO TO CANVAS This synchronous webinar will introduce the Canvas Learning Management System by Instructure. You will become familiar with site navigation, course access, personal settings, and notification preferences during this session. CANVAS COMMUNICATION TOOLS This synchronous webinar will demonstrate the multiple communication tools available through Canvas such as announcements, discussions, conversations (inbox), calendar events, notification preferences, and chat. CANVAS CONTENT This synchronous webinar will provide a demonstration of the tasks required to create, edit, and manage course content using Canvas by Instructure.

CANVAS TEST, QUIZZES, AND SURVEYS This synchronous webinar session will provide a demonstration of the tasks required to create, edit, and manage tests in Canvas. DROPOUT DETECTIVE This synchronous webinar will introduce Dropout Detective. Dropout Detective is a tool that allows instructors to view a list of students on their roster who are at risk of dropping or failing a course. The risk levels are determined by the students’ performance in their courses. This training session will provide an overview of the risk index information and how to use it to help students be more successful. SMARTERMEASURE This synchronous webinar will explain how to enable the SmarterMeasure LTI and how it can be used in a Canvas course. SmarterMeasure is an assessment for students to determine their levels of readiness for an online or technology-rich course. CANVAS ASSIGNMENTS This synchronous webinar session will demonstrate the tasks required to create and edit assignments, as well as link course assignments to content modules and grades. It will also cover SpeedGrader. ADA COMPLIANCE: PRACTICAL APPLICATION IN YOUR CANVAS COURSE This synchronous webinar will review quick and easy ways to ensure your course is ADA compliant. This session will include Canvas features to assist with ADA compliance.
