You are correct that MS does not require Medical Assistants to be hold a licensure. The only states currently requiring this are Idaho, Washington, Connecticut, and New Jersey. Just a tidbit that may come up with your work in this area- the "license" a Medical Assistant would/should seek is a Certification or Registration, depending on the agency the individual sits for the exam through. Those earning their title by successfully passing the exam are generally some version of Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Sorry if that was a lot more than you needed, it's just typically the next question I get asked after being asked about licensure requirements. If you have more questions, I am happy to answer. Have a great day.

I’m working on verifying licensing requirements for our programs so that we can comply with a new federal law. It looks like the state does not offer or require a license for medical assistants. Is that correct? Do you know if any states require a license for medical assistants?
