MS is not currently part of the compact licensure, so other states do not recognize our license. There are advocates for MS to join the compact licensure, but it has not gone through. The OTA students will be licensed through the Mississippi Department of Health. They have to graduate and pass a national board exam (NBCOT) prior to the state granting their license. I hope this is the information that you are needing.

We’re working on documentation for a new federal licensure verification requirement, and I have a question about PTA and OTA. Do your students leave with a state or national license; that is, does the State of Mississippi license them, or does a national organization license them?
