RICKEY G. FORD On July 1, 2015, Ricky G. Ford, a 1975 graduate of Northeast Mississippi College (Junior College at the time), became the school’s tenth president. Dr. Ford joined the Northeast staff as the head women’s basketball coach and admissions counselor in 1981. During his tenure, the Lady Tigers won over 500 games, 15 North Division, nine State, and three Region 23 titles, as well as the 1987 National Championship. Following his time on the sideline, Dr. Ford served Northeast as athletic director and dean of students before being named executive vice president in 2012. Dr. Ford is a member of the Northeast Sports Hall of Fame and the Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges Hall of Fame and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. He is an avid runner and an advocate for physical fitness. A veteran educator, Dr. Ford served as a teacher and head basketball coach at Booneville High School before accepting his first position at Northeast. He is a graduate of Pine Grove High School, Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi. Dr. Ford earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Religion and Culture degree from Christ's College Graduate School in 2019. Dr. Ford and his wife LuAnne have four children; Aaron, Lauren, Suzanne and Ben and 12 grandchildren.
