DEXTER HOLLOWAY Holloway, of Brookhaven, is the Assistant Executive Director for Monitoring and Accountability and has worked at MCCB since 1999. Previously, he worked with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security and the Mississippi Department of Education. He holds a master’s degree in Industrial Education from Alcorn State University, where he had earned his bachelor’s, in Technical Education with a concentration in Drafting. Currently, he is on the board of directors for several organizations in Lincoln County, including the Boys and Girls Club and the Alcorn State Alumni Association and Booster Club. BEVERLINGIVENS Beverlin Givens began serving as Director of Monitoring of the Mississippi Community College Board in January 2023. She previously worked for over a decade in government entities such as the MS Department of Human Services (MDHS), Institution of Higher Learning (IHL), MS Public Broadcasting, and MS Department of Education (MDE). She attended Jackson State University (Thee I Love!) and received a Bachelor of Science in Educational Technology and received a Master of Arts in Education/Curriculum and Instruction – Adult Education. Beverlin believes we should foster student engagement by implementing and assessing practices, policies, and procedures that remove unnecessary barriers to student success, and this begins with students’ access to admission into the colleges. She is an advocate for student and believes that we should model excellence and consistency in managing the postsecondary education business processes. Beverlin is married to Ricky (Yep! Yep! Yep!) and they are parents of four girls. The Givens’ are members of the St. Thomas M. B. Church in Bolton, MS. .
