MELA Meeting Minutes 2003 - 2017

h. The Higher Education Act was recently passed. Originally there was a stipulation in the act related to online courses requiring that student taking online exams would be required to verify that they are who they are claiming to be. The proctoring stipulation was not passed at this time, so we are currently in compliance with the Higher Education Act. This is something to be considering as we move forward in the next few years. i. SBCJC (MSVCC) will have a little bit of extra money in the FY2010 budget. Please be thinking of software programs, etc. that we may consider with these extra funds. j. Add/Drop for online courses will be Monday, August 25 th and Tuesday, August 26 th . If adding or dropping students from online courses after these dates, please work with the DLCs at the away college on adding and/or dropping. k. Julia Parker asked that everyone who provided handouts during the meeting to email her those handouts. She would like to include those on the Community Site, along with the meeting minutes.
