Audra said that one of the issues what she say a lot of, there were a lot of tests that did not submit. Jennifer added that if you remember this is one of the issues that we ran into before selecting a dual platform state. Jenkins said that he found this happened more with the English essay question exams. Jackie Bailey Hall said that several of her students came in to take a proctored exam and would receive the message that the student had already completed the exam, when they hadn’t. Tish said that we will need to provide detailed dates to Bb so that they can pinpoint what was occurring in the system. Tish said that she had her proctors not submit an exam after the first submit did not go through properly. Someone would sit with that computer until Bb resolved the problem before submitting the exam. Christian said that when you are in the proctored environment, please ask the proctors to only click Submit one time. If they continuously click the button, it causes more issues with the database. Chris asked why some test questions have the save option. Terry said that this was an addition to the test area. Should also communicate with the instructor on getting problems resolved such as are the what internet service provided that they are using, what IE they are using, dial up or dsl, time of day, etc. Audra Kimble asked if Presidium would also be involved in this type of discussion so that they are aware of the problems. Terry said that one big problem that we had this summer was a browser problem. Should always have a back up browser installed. Load balancer. Update on the grant – The certificates were mailed to all schools in July for the Spring certification course. Notifcation for the AT&T grant applicants will be notified within the next week. Dr. Garner worked hard on securing the funds from AT&T before he left. With these forms we allow the instructors to build new courses in the virtual college. Currently working on the logo for this. Having approved copyright images in course is very important. Jennifer asked if this was just a Bb building block, or something that could be added to Desire2Learn. Terry said that currently they were not integrated into other courses. The Copyright Clearance Center you would see a list of textbooks, etc within Bb. The instructor then submits the item that they wish to use, a notification is sent to the library, who sends the information to Washington for final approval. Wimba Pronto lets you see when people are logged into Bb. They are working with D2L for integration. Learning Objects –they will be presenting at bootcamp, but not looking at using this tool at this time. TurnitIn was installed on production earlier this week and is working properly. We would like to thank Jennifer Powell at JCJC for testing this building block. Evelyn Yang will be contacting each of you about conducting training on each of your colleges. We have it for free through the fall semester. We’ll have to look at the option of purchasing the product at a later time. Jennifer Powell said that they have lots of manuals, video’s, and an excellent technical support line. She also provided us with a PDF handout from their website at the last DLC meeting in June. Apreso will be installed for ICC for the fall. They purchased the product last year, but was not integrated yet. eInstruction Clicker is a building block that PRCC will be using.
