2011 – January eLearning Coordinators Association Minutes Friday, January 28, 2011

A regular meeting of the eLearning Coordinators Association was held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Holmes Community College, Ridgeland. The president and secretary were present. A quorum being established, Jennifer Powell called the meeting to order at 10:16 a.m. Audra Leverton moved to approve the agenda. The motion was seconded and carried. Jennifer Leimer moved to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded and carried.

New Business

Online Half Term Dates-Krista LeBrun inquired about dates for short term MSVCC classes. It was determined that there is no official schedule. The group discussed options. Christian Pruett will generate a survey. The results will be shared with Dr. Barnett, president of the Association of Presidents.

Camp to Campus Communication-Hubert Yates reminded the group to route all communications through the eLCs and not individual instructors. Amy Thornton is the official eLC contact for USM. Her email address is

Wimba Building Block Update-Christian will meet with Mat Christian, Implementation Specialist, on Monday, January 31 st to determine when to do the upgrade and what affect it will have. The versions of Blackboard and Wimba building blocks must match. Terry reported that video files can now be added to quizzes. The group reported that the text is small in some of the classrooms. Terry will create a ticket. The problem is not limited to Wimba.
