MELA Meeting Minutes 2003 - 2017

2011 – May eLearning Coordinators Association Minutes Wednesday, May 18, 2011

A regular meeting of the eLearning Coordinators Association was held on Wednesday, March 18, 2011 in the conference room of the State Board for Community and Junior Colleges, Jackson, MS. The president and secretary were present. A quorum being established, Jennifer Powell called the meeting to order at 10:02 a.m. Holly Melvin moved to approve the agenda. The motion was seconded and carried. Audra Leverton moved to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded and carried.

Unfinished Business

MSVCC Instructor of the Year - Nominations have been postponed because of problems with the submission website. Nominations for 2009/2010 will be accepted in fall 2011, and nominations for 2010/2011 will be accepted in spring 2012.

Wimba Pronto Update -The problem concerning users not receiving pronto messages has been resolved.

Textbook Committee – Christian Pruett provided an overview of work that has been done by the MSVCC Textbook Advisory Committee. (See Attachment) The committee will meet again this summer. The publishers will be present. eLCs and pertinent college personnel will be invited to attend.

New Business

Officer Nominations – The president opened the floor for nominations. Beverlin Givens nominated Keri Cole for vice-president. Michele Mitchell volunteered for secretary. Audra Leverton moved to close the nominations. The motion was seconded and carried. Since only one person was nominated for each office, by consensus, the association members agreed that the nominees were duly elected.

Enrollment Tool Extractions – State Board has been looking at ways to get information in and out of the Enrollment Tool. The idea is to create a middleware process that will push data to the individual
