Christian noted that if you were not able to make a reservation or to get a room at the $50.00 rate to let him know as he was going to speak with the representative of the Horseshoe this afternoon. iii. MOOC-would like to develop courses to place on the MSVCC website as a recruitment tool so that students can get an idea/sample of what an actual online course structure looks like and what to expect in the online learning environment. Christian would like to see actual content including documents and assessments. Christian does not want this to be an actual course but rather a course designed to simulate what an actual MSVCC course looks like to help students who are interested in enrolling in an online course. This may help the ease of students who are hesitant to take an online course or who are curious as to what an online course will look like. Christian feels this will be a great marketing tool. Christian asked us to think it over so we can discuss at Boot camp. iv. 2013-2014 Calendar listed Thanksgiving during the wrong week. This calendar was originally approved by the Deans. Thanksgiving falls on the 28 th of November so we need to extend the term to the 6 th of December. Alicia is going to bring up the changes on the calendar to the CAO’s. Short Term II should end at the same original time as it would extend it too long and may run into graduation. However that can be discussed if the ELC’s feel it necessary. The only term that should be effected is the Full-Term Online due to a conflict with dates. Spring 2014 should not have changes. Votes will take place to amend the calendar via email. Exact date of vote not known but Alicia will bring to the attention of the CAO’s on September 10 th . Changes to the calendar would make the term end on December 6 th and then grades would be due the following Monday. v. P&P Manual: Christian noted that the 4.8 SACS language had not been included so Tish and Christian met to make the necessary changes to address standard 4.8 including protection of identify, proctoring, proctoring form, and fee (no fee assessed to student who is enrolled in MSVCC taking MSVCC test). The changes need to be approved by the association and adopt the changes to policies and procedures. The changes will be shared with CAO’s but should not need to take to President’s for approval since we are already doing it was just left out of the P&P. Christian stated he would post an updated copy of the document on the website and on the community site. Keri asked for a motion to accept the change to the P& P. Holly Melvin made the motion. Chris Jenkins seconded. Keri asked for everyone to place a green check to approve changes. 15 votes yes to approve changes. Majority vote.
