until they meet again in October. ELCs should to talk with their Academic Officers about why the ELC consortium voted ‘yes’ on the attendance policy (e.g.,) so that all colleges are consistent with LDAs and weekly attendance, etc.

b. Bootcamp Update

i. Michele Mitchell is working on finalizing the Bootcamp agenda, and communicating with vendors to help with Bootcamp. ii. Subcommittee Chairs should get with their members and look over the Strategic Plan before Bootcamp to make sure everything is up-to-date. 1. ELC Meetings proceeding Boot Camp will go back to the format of committee members meeting the first 30 minutes of each meeting. iii. Audra Kimble sent out an e-mail about reserving rooms at Four Points in Biloxi, Mississippi in September for Bootcamp. These reservations should be made as soon as possible.

MCCB Business

a. Dr. Eric Clark i. Dr. Clark stated that the MCCB hasn’t supported the MSVCC in recent years like it should have, and promised more support in the future. He invited each college to call Audra/himself if the colleges need support in anything.

b. Enrollment Tool Update:

i. Ive is making progress on building the new Enrollment Tool. Ive still has programming to do, and there isn’t enough time for training/testing in order to have the new ET ready this Fall. The new ET will be pushed to January for training and testing, and should be ready to be used for the Summer 2014 term. ii. Audra Kimble touched on a past Technology Committee request of individual colleges wanting the ability to reinstate students. Talks have been conducted with the Audit department, and the since the ET will not keep LDA history, all reinstatements will still need to go through Beverlin until the ET is updated. When the ET update goes ‘live’ for Summer 2014, reinstatements should be able to be completed by each college. iii. Keri Cole asked if the new ET will be able to handle batch uploads of registrations. Audra Kimble stated that Ive is working on a ‘quick fix’ for Spring 2014 in the current system, and will talk to Ive about having this feature in the updated system. 1. Enrollment Tool reminder: a. Proctoring information (personnel changes, times, etc.) must be

updated by Friday, August 23 – because information will be copied/pasted from the ET into the MSVCC Squarespace site.

c. Blackboard IM Project Update

i. Akiah Gipson passed out a handout of each college’s status with BB IM. Several colleges have successfully synced. Blackboard is preparing the production site for BB IM, and once it goes ‘live’ the sync will happen twice daily -- times will be 12 pm (noon) and 1 am. ii. BB IM reported 2,200 courses and over 10,000 users for the four schools that have already tested. There is still time to test for those who haven’t. A few schools have opted out of using BB IM. Those schools that have opted out can later decide to use BB IM in the Spring 2014 semester, or later, if they chose to.
