1. Everyone should update roles on the spreadsheet and send revisions to Stacey Smith, Chair of the Technology Committee. 2. Beverlin Givens stated that no one should share usernames/passwords in the ET. Ive can see in the background of who completes what in the ET. Send Beverlin a list of who doesn’t need a role in the ET, so they can remove them. 3. Tish said that she has a SACS visit coming up, and SACS will look at credentials of instructors who have taught in the past. Because of this, it is best to leave these old instructors in the ET until they are 5 years old. 1. To eliminate errors in Canvas, the Consortium has voted that colleges Cross- List in Canvas, not in the Enrollment Tool. Canvas script reads differently than BB script and some students are not showing in Canvas. 2. Buffy Matthews will share Cross-Listing resources that she has already created with the group. i. Two more trainings are available through our BB IM contract. Another instructor training, and an Admin SAS training will be conducted. Audra Kimble will circulate dates for theses trainings. ii. Audra has a concern about colleges ‘opting out’ of BBIM because some colleges require students to participate. Some colleges pulling in courses may have students who are at a disadvantage. (Note: Northwest and Holmes required their online instructors to use BB IM.) iii. Automatic invitations will be sent out to all BB IM users. There is technical difficulty with these invitations being sent out. There is no expected date for this to be sent. 1. It is assumed that invitations haven’t been sent out because BB Collaborate contracts have not been signed because of negotiations between BB Collaborate and ITS. iv. There will be a ‘Contact’ tab and a ‘School’ tab within BB IM – you can have these tabs go to Help Desks at your institutions. If you have a Help Desk with dedicated staff, let State Board know so they can assign users to the School tab. v. There is a link in the MSVCC Resources section for users to access BB IM if they have lost their invitation (once it is sent out). vi. All ELCs are in agreement that Blackboard and Canvas should work together to come up with a solution so that each college doesn’t have to send files like we currently are doing. 1. Akiah Gipson mentioned that with her last call with Jesse Girardi from BB IM, he is talking to his Business Development team about partnering with Canvas. c. Submitting Tickets i. Audra Kimble will send out a standard template for all issues that are sent to State Board. This way, more detail is provided and problems can be researched more easily. ii. Akiah Gipson is doing research on finding a way to have tickets submitted directly to State Board. This would help with management, assigning tickets, and follow up of requests. iii.
