sent to students for tax returns. 51 of 10,000 came back with wrong socials for Holmes (the student entered the incorrect Social Security Number)….Holmes was charged $100 per wrong social. PRCC had even more errors, and both were fined heavily!

h. Calendars

i. Academic Deans are requesting MSVCC calendars for three years out. 1. Jennifer Leimer composed a 5-year calendar already, and will send it to Audra Kimble. Any other colleges that have tentative calendars please send to Audra. 2. There are many K-12 changes, which may affect our calendar. Textbooks i. Higher Ed Act requires textbooks to be listed online with price. Dept. of Education may look at this. Every college is showing textbooks in a different manner. University partners are complaining that the links are not giving enough information. Some links were requiring a login, and some links were not showing prices. Because we are a consortium and sharing courses, it is best that we have consistency. ii. Audra stated that the PDF list of books with prices is the user-friendliest format that she has seen. 1. Some schools do not have this format, because the PDF has to be updated too often, or they are using a textbook ordering company that does not format in that manner. iii. View the MSVCC Squarespace site, and look at what other schools are doing. Is there a better way to display the textbooks? iv. If you have updates to your Textbook Manager contacts, update the spreadsheet that Jennifer Leimer sent out and have to her by October 4. v. Some college bookstores are not accepting Purchase Orders. Bookstores need to work together to provide the best service to students. Presidents approved that Textbook Centers should accept POs from other colleges. 1. Customized books are often not the same on each college campus– and should be shipped quickly from the publisher.

i. Chairs of Committees should send changes to Audra Kimble. Audra will post the changes into the ELC Committee area of the Canvas Community and MSVCC website.

b. Spring Courses Built Date

i. Spring 2013 Courses will be purged in the ET on October 2. ii. Spring 2014 Courses should be built by October 25.

c. Changes to Committee Lists

i. Akiah Gipson is now Chair of the Best Practices Committee.
