MCCB Business - Audra Kimble a. Zendesk

i. Audra stated that Zendesk is helping State Board tremendously with tickets and forwarding them to the appropriate person. ELCs should use the ticket system to notify MCCB of any issues regarding online courses. i. Akiah passed out a sheet assigning each college to a month in which they will be featured in the MSVCC Academy Newsletter, beginning with the July 1 st newsletter. Colleges should use the sheet to determine when to submit their article to Akiah. The target audience for the article is the online instructor. i. Respondus Monitor Webinar for May 1. Audra stated that Respondus Monitor would like to present a webinar in May. Krista stated that she has attended a webinar before, and the student proctoring service with Respondus Monitor is recorded, so the instructor would have to go back and watch the video recordings. The group did not show interest in a webinar at this time, and Audra will relay this information to Respondus. ii. Web Conferencing 1. LinkSystems/Net Tutor has been discussing/visiting with each of the colleges about their new web conferencing tool, WorldWideWhiteboard. Audra met with Trey Burns and two VPs from LinkSystems regarding the product. Audra stated that a vote must be made by next month because BB Collaborate contract is about to end. The entire group is in agreement that the lack of an “app sharing” capability is a deal breaker. A priority list was developed by LinkSystems and sent out to the group to prioritize. LinkSystems can save us 20-25%. However, money is not an option – it is all about functionality at this point, the group agreed. 2. The Blackboard contract is $453,000 per year -- $134,000 for BB IM, $117,000 for BB Collaborate Voice, $202,000. Holmes Community College is the only college utilizing BB Voice. Kimberly, Keri, and a few other colleges agreed that the media features in Canvas are replacing BB Voice. The discussion among the group was that we could renew all three pieces of BB for one year in order for Holmes to explore alternatives to BB Voice, and/or to allow other colleges to see if BB Voice is needed after an additional year. The group agreed that they were ready to take a vote on the vendor for their web-conferencing needs. 3. Tish Stewart made a motion that we continue a one-year contract for all three components of Blackboard Collaborate that we currently use. Jennifer Leimer
