MCCB Business a. Update on Director of Training & Professional Development

i. Audra said that 5 interviews are scheduled this week to fill Akiah’s positon. Hope to make an offer by September 1 st or 2 nd .

b. Vendor Update i. Audra stated that the BFAC demonstration was just on texting. Before further discussions with BFAC, ELCs should be able to see the full aspect of the product, specifically more information is needed about their mobile app. BFAC will hopefully do another demonstration at the eLearning Retreat in September. Some colleges have decided to go ahead with utilizing BFAC on the institution level. Until further notice, we are holding off on the MSVCC app. ii. Respondus license expired. Audra was sent the wrong code. You should have all received the new license code now. Instructors are encouraged not to use Respondus for their proctored tests, since proctors should be watching to make sure students are not trying to access external links or web pages. This might eliminate some of the technical issues going on in with using Respondus in the lab settings.

c. Canvas Batch Processing

i. Canvas Batch Processing was supposed to occur in April; however, Audra has been working with Bo and Kevin but they are not ready for testing at this point. Kevin is waiting on QA group. Files will run to production as planned on Friday at noon.

d. Need for MELO Committee i. The Admin Committee suggested that a A MELO Committee be put together to evaluate the usefulness of the MELO website and databases. Keri said that she discovered that the database does not list all information that was previously available to online students. The MELO site is available from a public page and requires no authentication. The MSVCC is paying $240,000 annually for databases, and MELO hasn’t notified the MSVCC of being denied database access, yet there are a considerable amounts of database missing. 1. Audra stated that schools should email faculty who heavily use MELO and send recommendations to her. Recommendations can include Librarians.
