d. Registration begins on November 3 rd . No deadline will be set for course to be available to be pulled in by the group. e. NW – Course roster for pulled courses needs campus name included (also discussed during retreat). Students’ campus also needs to be pulled in. f. Hinds – ID numbers need to be on all rosters. 3. ZOOM a. Delay in Canvas integration resolved. Emails should be from CirQ regarding LTI. All colleges should have received them week of Sept. 21-25. b. Pilot ends December 31 st . c. MGCCC asked if anyone is having issues with ZOOM on colleges’ network with connection and audio issues. No one reported issues. Hinds will update as they proceed with pilot. MGCCC reviewing Big Blue Button in addition to ZOOM/Collaborate. 4. SmarterProctoring a. See Appendix A for issues and updates from Andrew b. Homes had glitch where instructors populated in to a course as students. Caused by Canvas enrollment files. Holmes had to delete the instructors on the back end of Canvas. c. PRCC has issue with SP not syncing with Registerblast correctly. Confirmation email received but no appointment scheduled. d. Discussion of Andrew’s delayed response time for problems. Keep Audra in the loop so she can keep tabs on solutions to issues. 5. BVirtual Fees a. MGCCC administration concerned regarding the cost of BVirtual being placed on the students. Asked which colleges are using the service currently (PRCC, NW, NE, MDCC, Holmes, Hinds, MCC, and ECCC). b. Discussion of MSVCC covering BVirtual Fees. Using colleges prefer maintaining the fee as a convenience free for the students and are not interested in MSVCC funds covering costs. c. Jennifer Leimer made motion to have MSVCC cover BVirtual fees. Motion was NOT seconded and failed. 7. Vendor Usage Spreadsheet a. Spreadsheet will be made available to the group via Google Docs b. Colleges need to update and elaborate on institutional usage. Audra only reviewed the instance level for apps and items for which the consortium is responsible. c. Group would also like to track use of DropGuard (SmartEvals), Gradefirst, etc, as well as ebook usage. Action Items A. Canvas User Interface 1. Canvas will move to new user interface Summer 2016. This will not be an optional move at this time. New interface is active in BETA currently. 2. MELA will need to move to new interface as a whole in order to reduce student confusion. Move for May 15 th in preparation for Summer 16 term is proposed. 3. Editing in java files for branding, navigation, etc, will need to take place. Jeremy Cole from Hinds will speak to the group regarding some basic suggestions based on Hinds’ testing of the new interface. 4. Christa Wilhite made the motion to move to the new interface on May 15 th . Jennifer Leimer seconded. Motion passed. 6. August 15 Policy and Procedure Manual and Strategic Plan Colleges need to review manual and plan recirculated by Audra.
