New Business A. Canvas UI (Jeremy Cole)

Adding links to global navigation isn’t as easy as it was in the past. Three links on Hinds new GI. What’s in our current global navigations for our instances will not copy over to the new UI and will need to be redeveloped. The new UI will not scroll, so any icons added will be lost to users. Schools can upload custom CSS. Javascript has worked with adding to the navigation menu. Canvas implementation manager has not really released many notes on the new UI. Icons can be added from Canvas cache. Must turn icons off in the coding if you don’t want them active for users. Theme editor will allow for custom branding. Adding one link to relay students to a multisite function that can direct them where they need to go is an option to minimize clutter on the interface and prevent loss of icons. Example: Hinds Bridge. Minimum 3-4 links in global nav. Possibly considering building it in to course templates so it’s off navigation and housed at course level. Students can change color and give course card a nickname. Log in will need to be rebranded. Delete files then upload for changes seems easier. B. MCCB 1. Calendar Summer 2017 – Summer 2019

No one had issues with calendar dates. Admin committee makes recommendation that calendar be approved. Jennifer James seconds. Recommendation passed. 2. Changes to Control Date Document Grade Window, Adjusted withdrawal date (33% and then to Friday), Course Survey (set by dates of course) for student services will be December 1st to end of term. 12:01 am to 11:59 pm dates displayed. Admin committee makes recommendation for changes in P and P. Buffy Matthews seconds. Recommendation passes. 3. BB Collaborate Ultra Problems getting it loaded. Jeremy Elliot recruited for assistance. It is missing some bells and whistles, but will hopefully have it in test environment in near future. 4. ZOOM Reminder that pilot ends 12.31. MGCCC still having pilot issues. Loses connection. Kim Ellis was having log in issues today and had to sign out and back in to see participants. Keri’s pilot users have not reported issues. Vanessa interested in extending pilot. Due to finance regulations pilot might have to be extended by one of the colleges for payment to be processed. Audra will find out if this would be a purchasing requirement.
