Canvas aims to allow institutions to transition at their own pace rather than enforcing a migration to new quizzes. Despite previous discussions about a sunset date during the Fall consortium call, it was clarified that institutions are not obligated to switch from classic quizzes to new quizzes. Several colleges attempted mass migrations but encountered issues, prompting a discussion on informed decision-making for those considering migration or minimal usage of new quizzes. Concerns were raised regarding compatibility with Cidilabs Design Plus sidebar in new quizzes, a known bug with studio videos not transferring during migration, and delays in implementing sub-account level outcomes for item banks.
