RESOURCES AND SUPPORT The ability to properly communicate and collaborate amongst the MSVCC is vital due to the increased usage of instructional technologies in both traditional and online courses. In an effort to better serve the colleges, the following resources and support are provided by the MCCB in order to maximize the effectiveness of the adopted technologies and simplify the use of the tools.
• Canvas Administration • MSVCC and eLITE Help Desk • Maintain functionality and provide technical support for technology services (including manuals) • Tech Talk • Canvas Community • MELA Canvas Course • ET Issues – Serve as liaison between Information Services Division and the schools • Attendance Tool Issues – Serve as liaison between Information Services Division and the schools MELA CANVAS COURSE The MELA Canvas Course is designed to improve the collaboration of the MSVCC Consortium and provide resources that will enhance the quality of eLearning education. MSVCC CANVAS COMMUNITY The MSVCC Community Group is a Canvas Community group where instructors and eLearning staff of the MSVCC can share ideas about teaching, learning, and course design in Canvas.
• Vendor Liaison • Troubleshoot issues before contacting Information Services Division or vendor • Install LTIs • Ensure adequate training guides and videos are provided by vendors • Create guides and videos (as needed) • Correspond with MSVCC about vendor downtime, issues, updates, documentation, and other services. • Grade changes in the Enrollment Tool
MSVCC WEBSITE The MCCB eLITE Division provides information via webpages to faculty, staff, and students about the MSVCC such as MSVCC course listings, faculty resources, student resources, and help guides. MSVCC ENROLLMENT TOOL The MSVCC Enrollment Tool (ET) is an enrollment management system for MSVCC online courses and students across the 15 Mississippi community colleges. The ET provides access to courses from any Mississippi community college allowing the host college to offer their students additional course options from other institutions.
