SBCJC BUSINESS – CHRISTIAN PRUETT AND TERRY POLLARD a. IHL COLLABORATION MEETING – CHRISTIAN PRUETT. Trying to set the agenda for this meeting. Has a consultant coming in on August 21 st and ways that we can work with IHL. They are interested in partnering with us. There were five programs discussed at the last meeting for potential two plus two programs. If you have anything that you wish that could be discussed, those would be excellent items of discussion at the meeting. Looking at November 12 th at SBCJC board room. Be thinking about that meeting and things that needed to be discussed. Jennifer said that Tish, Buffy, and I are planning on being there. Do not feel that it is necessary for the entire group to attend, but wanted to make this meeting a goal oriented meeting. If you are unable to attend both dates, please talk with us or Christian and Terry at state board your input so that your ideas are represented. Identify specific disciplines that we may be able to move forward with. Discussion with your administration and what thoughts and ideas that they have would be beneficial for this meeting. b. MSVCC WEBSITE – TERRY POLLARD We’ve had the same webpage since 2003. We’ve had discussion on what you think that state board. Christian developed the slogan Connecting; Engaging; Empowering. New partnership improves student teacher contact; 91% of students feel. Replace msvcc.org. Would like your feedback. Felt like we need answer the charge of course integrity. Want to include the video/audio components to online courses, etc. Jennifer asked if they had built out the faculty development and student help recourses. Most of the content in the resource area have been changed, but still link to college information. Jennifer suggested that at the very top of Student Help in bright bold letters the Presidium help information should be added. Most students do not come to the MSVCC tab, but click help from Bb help link. Jennifer said that this could still be used because we can provide this link on our current websites, etc. Would also like the schools to have links on this page. The content pages can be commented on. Will have PDFs created for Bb modules, D2L Modules, etc. Terry said that it is his understanding that anyone in the state can use typepad. c. NEW MSVCC LOGO AND SLOGAN d. WIMBA – CONFERENCE CALL – AARON BOND. Scott Smith has been assigned as our professional services manager. Scott has a background in both higher education and k-12. Worked for the University of Georgia and dealt with everything from technology in the classroom to online courses. As you identify faculty that are ready to use the Wimba tools, trainings will be provided September-October through Wimba webinars. We have a learning services team here through Wimba. There are also opportunities for us to come out and meet with you guys in Mississippi. Working with Christian to develop a training project plan for the state of MS. Jesse will be sending Terry a list of those registered and attended the online wimba webinars/workshops. We will also be offering private in-depth workshops to the faculty at each of our institutions. These workshops are tailored to the organization and faculty that
