Blackboard/Technical Issues a. Echo 360 Building Block – Jackie Bailey-Hall. There is an Echo 360 building block that can be placed into Bb, but it will only hold 25 instructors. It is very limited. One of Jackie’s instructors went to a conference and saw how the building block worked. b. Bb Attendance Building Block – Derrix Betts. One of his instructors found an attendance building block. Holmes uses performance dashboard for this functionality. Terry stated that he does not think that we can install it and use it because of the tension that it places on the database. This information came directly from Sean at Blackboard. Martha Lou’s instructors have also asked about this due to audit; however, they are required to complete the absences throughout the semester in banner. They cannot do this on hosted students, but on PRCC students only. Several have inquired about how to do this within Bb and have Bb talk to our SIS. Tish stated that they only require the online audit for Holmes courses. c. Academy Registration – Terry Pollard. This is showing on the faculty tab, top right-hand side of the page. We need the academy numbers to increase so that we do not have to close classes. If it is not appearing now, please let him know and he will add it for you. d. Help/Support Link – Terry Pollard. The help/support link is available. If you would like your faculty to use this, ask the students to import the PDF. Keri Cole said that when you change the menu options to buttons, it messed up the formatting. Terry said that the color may be the issue, he would take the code out to see if that fixed the issue. Julia stated that this information was actually sent via email in November too. e. Textbook ISBN published – Audra Leverton. During the last meeting, via Wimba, we discussed the requirement for book pricing and ISBN to be included with course offerings. Audra asked if we wanted to make an enrollment tool request to add a price column within the textbook information. This would allow for the textbook and price to appear on the student profile. The issue with having this print on the student’s profile is that textbook prices may vary from school to school. The price provided to HINDS could be higher or lower than the price provided to Holmes. Jennifer Leimer said that as long as all schools are not required to post this way, she wouldn’t see it as an issue. MGCCC would rather the textbook managers be responsible for updating this information on the college website, since they have this information readily available. Then the price would show up on their profile. Audra Leverton made the recommendation to ask Ive to create this field and that the information will only be posted if information was there. Keri said that we already have the textbook data provided in the ET. She thought that it would be easier just to add the price. Jennifer Leimer recommended that we add the pricing to the comments area rather than the textbook area in the Enrollment Tool. Tish stated that Holmes may use something called Book Look. Baylor did this and comes directly from the bookstore. Whoever orders your books, types in the orders, then links to Book Look. Jennifer asked if it were a good idea to speak to our bookstore managers to see where they are going with this to begin with. Hinds will be posting a static PDF for their course textbooks. Audra will make an enrollment tool proposal to the enrollment tool committee. Christian asked how many
