MSVCC Growth Chart – Terry is compiling data about the growth of the MSVCC over the past ten years. He would like to compare the data to New York’s system which has a similar structure and size.

Support Tab and Sub-Tabs – Terry is still working on creating a single support tab in Blackboard. The project was delayed because of the Blackboard upgrade.

The eLC Boot Camp will be held the last week of September in Hattiesburg, MS.

Strategic Planning Committee Reports

Best Practices Committee Report – The eLearning Committee is scheduled to meet on Thursday, May 19 th . They will discuss the Academy courses and how they can grow. They are working on a grant program that will allow faculty to apply for money to help students get acclimated to eLearning by department or college.

Administration Committee Report- The committee led discussions on how no shows are determined and how attendance is counted at individual colleges. A new federal financial aid policy will go into effect, July 1 st . Colleges will not be able to count logging into class as attendance. Students must show academic progress. The committee will do further research on creating standard MSVCC no show and attendance policies.

Holly Melvin moved that MSVCC students be given two weeks in the fall and spring semesters and one week during the summer term before being submitted as a no show. The motion was seconded and carried.

Tish will now serve as Director of Distance Learning at Holmes.
