institutions that do not want to move forward, the developmental courses are still an option. Both the Academic Officers and the Presidents voted 13/2. b. Keri stated that high-demand courses should be built first. c. Audra stated that an Orientation course would be developed. It will be modular, and schools could pull content from it for their own college-specific orientation if they would like. Below are the modules included: i. Getting Started as an Online Student ii. g. Testing Window Dates for Canvas – Audra Kimble

i. Amy Ocarson, from Canvas, requested college-testing dates so Canvas would be prepared for heavy traffic. ELCs agreed that December 2-17 th is the timeframe for heavy traffic.

h. State Authorization Templates – Audra Kimble

i. State Authorization templates that Audra e-mailed to all colleges are due on December 6.

i. Instructor of the Year Nominations – Audra Kimble

i. All nominations should be received by November 30. Colleges should decide on up to three instructor nominations to submit. Submissions should be sent by December 13 th through the link that Audra e-mailed to the group. Gulf Coast, Northeast, Northwest, Pearl River, and Southwest will be judging the applicants. Audra needs to know who from those institutions will evaluate, so they can go online and evaluate. The selection committee will select no later than January 10 th . The instructor will be recognized and presented the award at Creating Futures Pre-Conference Lunch, and at the President’s Meeting on January 21 st . j. Retention Application Vendor Demonstration – Audra Kimble and Keri Cole i. There will be a Vendor Presentation on December 11 at the MUSE Center/Hinds Campus. It will be 10 am – 4 pm. Two or three representatives from each institution (one from eLearning, one from IT, and one Retention Specialist from each school) can attend. Aspire and Dropguard (Smart Evals/Gap Technology) have verified that they will be there. Other communication is going on with GradesFirst. Audra will send out an invitation, and each college should forward the invitation to those coming. i. Audra e-mailed out notes from the initial investigative meeting that took place to discuss mini terms, and a proposed calendar for mini terms. There is still a lot to be discussed. Nothing can happen without the Enrollment Tool piece. Ive has not committed to a timeline. The recreation of the ET is the major foundation for mini terms. ii. Audra mentioned that proprietary schools are already doing flex terms, so we will have to get on board. Audra stated that at the investigative meeting, many colleges expressed that they wanted the four-week term flexibility.
