Action Items A. MELA Retreat June 22nd-24th. Gulfport Hampton Inn. Buffy will be emailing out more info soon so we can reserve rooms. B. Academic Quality Letters Some schools have only received 10-11. Ensure home institution has sent theirs out. C. MELA Officers Michelle Sumerel changing positions at ICC. Buffy Matthews has agreed to assume presidency in January and serve her full term. Nominations are being accepted for president elect at this time. Krista LeBrun will help Buffy Matthews with January meeting.

Open Forum A. Instructor of the Year December 11th deadline for ET submission. Audra will send reminder. B. Proctored Exam Policies
Coahoma- One mandatory exam for every instructor, instructors have choice of others. No specific policies about outside students. BVirtual not in use. CoLin- Same thing. Must be 25% of grade for one exam. New eLearning committee reevaluating items regarding the proctored exams. BVirtual not in use but under consideration. ECCC- Up to two proctored exams for short, 3 for full term. Finals must be proctored. 35% weighted requirement. BVirtual in use. EMCC- Walk Ins accepted. No charges for no shows or late students. BVirtual is in use. Students complain about fee. Proctoring allowed at universities. Tests are limited to one hour. Instructors can give up to 3 exams with final required. 25%minimum weight. Possibly increasing. Night and weekend proctoring available. Hinds- Pass/Fail policy done away with. Up to instructors regarding percentage. No more than three allowed; two required. Still using BVirtual. Still approving outside proctoring based on facilities and circumstance. Walk Ins accepted. No policy in writing regarding proctors taking classes from the other colleges. Asked if other colleges have one to share and no one does at this time. Holmes- Two tests required. One must be the final, other must be before 75% point. They can cut out students who do not take that first proctored test and do NOT reinstate them. Two part tests require two sessions payment with BVirtual. ICC- requires midterm and final for every course weighted at 45%. Not using BVirtual unless case by case basis honoring other schools’ decisions. JCJC- midterm and final proctored 35%. No BVirtual. MCC- Proctored exams based on credit hours. Not weighted. One must be final. Using BVirtual. Delta- Midterm and Final. Labs require final. Weighted 50-60%. Using BVirtual. No late tests unless instructors grant permission. Gulf Coast- Instructors decide test number. BVirtual approved by one council but not released yet. Requested from SP to see if they can adjust verbiage for BVirtual on SP site. NE- Two exams, 50% required no more than 60%. BVirtual allowed and requested for admin panel in SP. Fee required for non MSVCC students. Walk ins allowed with kiosk set up to require sign in.
