Action Items

A. CINAHL Database Letter from EC nuring in support of keeping it. 52,938k to pay for the product. MGCCC received letter stating that the resource is not used by students, but faculty obtaining higher degrees use it, but access via their institution. They don’t feel that the MSVCC should pay for it. ICC’s nursing uses it. Their instructors use it and showcase it during orientation. Kimberly Ellis – It is not an online resource, so why are we paying for it? Tish Stewart– emailed biology and nursing instructors. No one responded until Tish emailed higher ups about lack of response. Three of them didn’t even know what it is. Her librarian provided her institution stats…cheaper to pay individually instead of by state license. Kimberly Ellis makes motion to NOT fund CINAHL. Haley Duck seconded. Motion passed. B. Films on Demand 153k for academic and CTE combined. Academic only is 104k. MGCCC uses it extensively. Hinds, Holmes, and ICC use it. All colleges have at least 1k hits on site. Christa Wilhite makes motion to fund it. Jennifer Leimer seconds. Motion passed. Academy Workshop on product an option? C. Respondus Lockdown Browser and TestGenerator Contract expires July 31st. 55K annual. Phyllis Johnson- NW has students access the test via lockdown. CoLin is the same way, as well as PRCC. MGCCC has problems with it. Debate over alternate products like Lanschool adopted as a consortium. Service needs to be maintained for the schools that are using it until a suitable replacement is found. We need usage reports for all schools to see who is using what. Motion to keep it for a year until another solution is found for funding Lockdown if it is cheaper made by Phyllis Johnson. Tish Stewart seconds. Motion passed. ICC voted against discontinuing Respondus at all. D. ET Audit Roster Beverlin had discussed going electronic with audit rosters so we don’t have to print the rosters. New role would be created allowing reviewers to view our signed rosters. Monitoring division would determine format for review. eLearning would no longer be responsible for printing and providing the rosters to the team. Instructors would still sign electronically. Need to approve statement “For MSVCC courses, all audit rosters will be reviewed electronically thru the ET by those assigned auditor status.” Request for mass download option in case of emergency. Motion to approve statement made by Tish Stewart, seconded by Kim Harris. Motion Passed. Start FA 2016. E. MELO Renewal Currently funded thru MSVCC. Tequila Sunrise makes motion to support it. Tish Stewart seconds. Motion Passed. Full PDF text without the student having to pay for it. ICC has 148% increase in MELO use. Before we vote for 2017-2018 MELO Renewal, we will request usage data for EACH VENDOR within MELO from each college .

Open Forum A. Short Term 2 Spring Break (Michele Mitchell) - More no shows for short term two classes even after seat count. Request to move start date around spring break, but all colleges set their own spring break date, so this is not feasible.
