i. Dr. Nettles is the voice of the MSVCC, and Krista LeBrun stated that she could get a copy from Dr. Nettles and put it in the MELA course as a centralized location. ii. Haley Duck suggested that the date of when the President’s approved be added to the P&P document. The group agreed.

3. SACS wanted to know how faculty are evaluated (wanted to know why our evaluations are different than f-2-f, how we know they are quality, etc.) a. Keri took her local evaluation, and the eLearning evaluation, and matched them. For every item on the evaluation, make sure there is an equivalent. b. SACS asked about outside evaluations. i. Quality Verification Letters are extremely important – have that on file. Make sure your college sends it out every October. We need to make sure to have proof that we have evaluated every single course. ii. Be prepared to answer who evaluates the course, and why are they qualified? 4. SACS asked about grade distribution and how it differs from face-to-face. They also asked about student learning outcomes. How can you verify that students are learning and achieving what face-to-face students are? a. Outcomes for online courses are identical to traditional. b. Assessment methods match, even though Instructional techniques & tools may differ. 5. SACS wanted proof of the the process to approve outside proctors. Wanted email and evidence. Wanted wording about potential fees about outside proctors (i.e. there is a chance you would be charged, BVirtual charging, etc.) 6. SACS asked how you know the student taking the course is the one getting the grade. a. Be prepared to discuss student identity, proctored exams, authentication (IT). c. Attendance Using Canvas – Kimberly Ellis i. PRCC is looking for another alternative method for taking attendance (currently using GradesFirst), and would like to consider Canvas Roll Call. After a discussion with Raul in Summer 2014, it was mentioned that Roll Call format does not align with State Audit format. Raul mentioned getting MCCB to pay for a Canvas enhancement that would make it work the way we need it to for audit. ii. PROS of using Canvas for attendance: 1. Canvas would allow us to take outside-student’s attendance. 2. Instructors are already in Canvas, so it would one less system they would need to access. iii. Krista LeBrun suggested we get a group together to discuss how we would need it to function and create a ‘wish list’. After the meeting, we can set up a call with Laura to meet with the Engineers to see if Canvas can create an enhancement to benefit all of the colleges. 1. Jennifer Leimer, Keri Cole, Kimberly Ellis, Krista LeBrun, Christa Wilhite, and Raul Flentez will be included on the initial meeting. Kimberly Ellis will spearhead the group and set a meeting date.
