VII. Open Forum a. SmarterProctoring Import and New Quizzes: Dr. Christa Wilhite reported after speaking to Kim Harris at NEMCC, it has been found that New Quizzes does not import into SmarterProctoring. A work around would be for the instructor to do a manual creation in SmarterProctoring for the exams. Dr. Wilhite has reached out to Canvas to get the new API so that we can again have seamless integration. b. Summer/Fall Proctoring: Dr. Amanda Hood lead discussion on what each institution is doing for proctoring for the Summer/Fall sessions. CoLin is using BioSig. Pearl River has been using the SmarterProctoring Automate but has had too many issues. They are now proctoring using Zoom. Denise Gillespie has been asked to present at the Academic Officers meeting next week on remote proctoring. The presentation will be a broad overview of approximately six virtual proctoring solutions with pros and cons of each as well as pricing structures. There has not been a virtual proctoring solution that has proven to be a good option for all of the institutions. ICC will go back to in person proctoring at their testing labs in the Fall and will be using Zoom for virtual option for students who have an issue with coming to campus for their exams. Holmes CC will be doing in person proctoring and using ProctorU or Examity. If the student chooses the virtual option, they are responsible for the charges for the service. NWCC will be using HonorLock again for the summer/fall semester however, will have the proctoring center open for the students who might have an issue with HonorLock. The NWCC instructors will also be given the option of proctoring their students at a lab or through Zoom. Meridian CC will be using ProctorU for their virtual option. c. MILD Grant Reports: Dr. Krista LeBrun reported the due date for the MILD Grants follow-up reports can be pushed back to late July. She will send a memo out in case the business offices will need to know that these funds can be rolled over to the next year. Dr. Amanda Hood with CoLin reported that one of the things she used her MILD Grant funds for was the Poly Studio. It will eventually be combined with an Educart.
